Packet Power is pleased to announce the release of the enhanced MP277, now offering support for up to 12 current transformers (CTs)—a 50% increase over the previous 8‑CT model. Designed to address the increasing demand for high-density embedded AC metering, this upgraded unit delivers more monitoring capacity without increasing its footprint.
Earlier 3‑CT and 6‑CT models will remain available while inventory lasts, but the focus moving forward is the P5T12 configuration—an advanced submetering solution that integrates seamlessly into existing infrastructures.
At the core of the upgrade is the expanded CT capacity. The P5T12 now supports up to 12 channels in the same compact housing previously limited to 8, allowing facility managers to monitor significantly more circuits per device. This enables:
This level of integration is particularly well-suited for applications where space is at a premium, including data centers, manufacturing facilities, and embedded OEM equipment.
Installation has been significantly simplified. The new CT adapter harness eliminates screw terminals, reducing potential wiring errors and accelerating deployment. The process involves just two connections:
The updated design replaces up to 24 individual wire connections with two clean plug-and-play connectors, minimizing downtime and installation effort.
The enhanced MP277 also introduces virtual sub-circuiting, giving users the ability to define and monitor arbitrary circuit groupings within a single device. This supports more detailed and flexible analysis—ideal for identifying inefficiencies, optimizing load distribution, and improving overall system performance.
Like all Packet Power modules, the P5T12 is fully compatible with the company’s wireless monitoring ecosystem and integrates with leading BMS and DCIM platforms without the need for custom configuration. This allows facilities to scale monitoring efforts without changing tools or workflows.
Its compact, high-density format also makes it an ideal fit for:
The upgraded MP277 provides a measurable return on investment by:
With support for 12 channels, simplified installation, and flexible sub-circuit mapping, the P5T12 helps facilities maximize uptime, ensure electrical reliability, and extract more value from each kilowatt.
Driven by real-world feedback and evolving industry needs, the enhanced MP277 reflects Packet Power’s ongoing commitment to innovation. Its field-proven technology, compact design, and robust wireless capabilities make it a dependable and scalable solution for modern metering challenges.
